According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, “E-Prescribing is a prescriber’s ability to electronically transmit an accurate, error-free, and understandable prescription directly to a pharmacy from the point-of-care.” Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS) involves the electronic transmission of Schedule II-V controlled substances from a healthcare provider to a pharmacy.
